Charlene B. Krejci, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Dr. Charlene B. Krejci received her DDS degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Dentistry in Cleveland, Ohio in 1984 and completed her Master of Science Degree in Dentistry along with her specialty certification in periodontics at Case Western Reserve University in 1986. She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and the recipient of the prestigious Balint Orban Memorial Award. She has been in private practice since 1986, is an Associate Clinical Professor of Periodontics at Case Western Reserve University, and is on the staff of Meridia South Pointe Hospital.
Dr. Krejci is a member of the American Academy of Periodontology, the American Dental Association, the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, the Pierre Fauchard Academy, and other professional organizations. She has published articles in professional journals and lectures frequently to dental and other health care professionals. Most recently, she was awarded the American Academy of Periodontology’s Educator Award for CWRU in recognition of outstanding tutoring and mentoring in periodontics.
In addition to her dental activities, Dr. Krejci is also a registered dietitian – having completed both undergraduate and graduate work in nutrition as well as a dietetic internship at University Hospitals. Prior to entering dental school, she was the Director of Nutritional Services at The Cleveland Clinic Foundation. Doctor Krejci enjoys spending time with her family, reading (whenever time allows!), and trying to perfect the art of juggling personal and professional activities.
Sayuri Smith, D.M.D., Ph.D.
She was born and raised in Japan, and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and PhD in Okayama, Japan. She also attended University of Pittsburgh and received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree, and completed specialty training in Periodontics. In addition, she was actively involved in research projects developing new bone fixation materials and periodontal immunotherapy systems. Her research has been published in scientific journals.
She is a member of several professional organizations including the American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Dental Society of Western Pennsylvania, and American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Smith is board certified in Periodontology and Dental Implant Surgery.
She is dedicated to providing excellent periodontal care in prevention and treatment of gum diseases and rehabilitation of lost dentitions with implant therapy to improve her patients’ quality of life.
