Before and After

Periodontal disease is a chronic infection caused by bacteria that collect at the gum line in a soft, sticky substance called plaque. In this example, a redness (inflammation) at the gum line was eliminated by showing the patient how to effectively remove plaque with proper brushing and flossing techniques. Practicing effective oral hygiene techniques is the first step in managing periodontal problems and can help you to heal yourself.
